Maligayang Bata Project

Maligayang Bata is the very first project initiated by the RotaKids and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cubao.

The project brings an early Christmas gift for the underprivileged children under the care of Kuya Center, a non-government organization based in Cubao, Quezon City that takes care of street children. A total of 40 street children age 9 to 15 years old will be treated to a fun-filled day at the Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa Laguna.

The purpose of Maligayang Bata is to foster camaraderie among RotaKids and the street children with the aim of providing the street children with an opportunity to experience a fun filled day away from the risks they face in the streets and to raise the awareness of RotaKids to the plight of street children by providing them the opportunity to interact and play with them during the field trip. Hopefully, this interaction will inspire both Rotakids and the street children to improve their perspectives in life and become leaders and contributors tosociety someday.

Rotakids is headed by its President, Ms. Janine Chelsey Ho, the daughter of RC Cubao’s Immediate Past President Johnny Yu and President Elect Veronica Ho.Rotakids is a club for children below the age of 12 and is an ideal training ground for future leaders.

A few weeks ago, Rotary Club brought kids to the Enchanted Kingdom for a day of fun and adventure.

Rotakids of Cubao was initiated last September 26, 2015 with 16 members and it is the first of its kind under RI District 3780.
