Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reunites original 1980s Turtles and Krang in time travel episode

MANILA, 20 APRIL 2016—Fans of the famous crime-fighting reptiles, old and new alike, will definitely rejoice in the newest episode of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the worlds of today’s Ninja Turtles collide with their 80’s counterpart. The pizza-loving ninjas will travel back in time to beat the ever-present evil of Krang in the “Trans-Dimensional Turtles” episode premiering April 29, Friday, at 6 p.m.

All eight turtles from the 80’s and the present will battle out to eliminate both the 80’s Krang and Kraang Subprime. Fans will see versions of the fearsome four immersed in a 2D-animation world and CG-animation dimension, getting a taste of action in both realms. The voice cast of the 80’s Turtles, Cam Clarke, Rob Paulsen,

Barry Gordon and Townsend Coleman join forces again as Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, respectively for the episode. Actor Pat Fraley also reunites with the ‘80s cast for the first time since the original series premiered to reprise his role as Krang

Additionally, in another dimensional twist, the episode will offer a glimpse of the Turtles in a comic book world resembling Kevin Eastman’s Mirage Studios comic book series.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follows four mutant turtles— Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo—trained in the art of Ninjutsu by their mutant rat sensei, Master Splinter, who teaches the turtles to battle evil from the New York City sewers.

Since its relaunch in 2012, Nickelodeon’s CG-animated Turtles has re-energized these iconic characters of the wildly popular franchise. On August 7, 2014, Paramount Pictures featured a film reboot of the popular Turtles, which grossed $477MM worldwide to date. And a sequel titled “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” is currently in the works, slated for release on June 2, 2016.

The series created at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California, under Executive Producers CiroNieli and Brandon Auman is now on its fourth season. This season, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will follow the Turtles as they embark on their most epic adventure yet – outer space! Allied with a cyborg known as the Fugitoid (voiced by David Tennant), the Turtles will hurdle through space, meet strange and bizarre alien creatures, and combat galactic monsters, all in a race against time to save planet Earth.

Earlier episodes will be made available for viewers prior to the premier of “Trans- Dimensional Turtles” on April 29. Meanwhile, season four’s newest episode “The Cosmic Ocean” will air on April 25, Monday, at 6 p.m.

For more Turtles action, viewers can log on to Nick-Asia.com for digital exclusives, games, quizzes and more. Beginning 29 April, fans can play the brand-new game set in the ‘80s Turtles environment, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Kickin’ it Old School,”

where players will travel through the city streets and rooftops charging through Foot Ninjas to diffuse all the dimensionizers planted by Krang to save the city.
